NAIOP NYC Wins Chapter of the Year

NAIOP NYC attended the annual NAIOP Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat in Washington D.C. The theme of this year's retreat was "LEAP into 2012: Learn; Educate; Achieve; Perform." During NAIOP’s Chapter Merit Awards Gala, NAIOP NYC was named 2011 Chapter of the Year. The Chapter was honored for its rapid growth and for its achievements in advocacy and chapter management over the course of the year. The Berman Group serves as chapter manager for NAIOP NYC.

IFMA NYC Chapter Holds 2012 Annual Awards Dinner

The IFMA NYC Chapter hosted their Annual Awards Dinner on January 26, at the Pierre Hotel. Over 300 professionals from over 90 different companies gathered for the dinner in honor of Visionary Award recipient, Ted Moudis, Senior Principal of Ted Moudis Associates. For over 30 years, the Annual Awards of Excellence Dinner has been bringing together professionals to honor outstanding projects, individuals, companies, service providers and vendors.

NAIOP Holds Monthly Breakfast Panel Discussion

On January 24th over 100 guests attended the first monthly NAIOP breakfast of 2012: “Are You Ready for 2012? A Panel Discussion on Changes and Opportunities in the Leasing, Ownership and Debt Sectors.”  Moderated by Adam Spies, Senior Managing Director of Eastil Secured, the discussion of leasing, investment and debt environments in the context of major deals of 2011 proved to be relevant and engaging and set the stage for a year of important discussion. Panelists included Greta Guggenheim, President of Ladder Capital, Mark Portner, Managing Director of Shorenstein, and Peter Riguardi, President of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Sarah Berman Speaks at Real Estate Lenders Association Planning Retreat

The Real Estate Lenders Association (RELA) held a National Chapter Planning Retreat on January 25th at the Westin New York. RELA is a non-profit real estate finance association with Chapters in New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington, D.C. Its Board of Directors and Chapter Officers gathered at this retreat to discuss Chapter success stories and to further enhance the growth of the association as a National organization.

RELA Hosts Annual New Year’s Networking Celebration

Over 400 members and guests of the Real Estate Lenders Association gathered in New York City for the annual New Year’s Networking Event at Cipriani’s in Midtown. This annual event serves as a gathering of RELA’s members from across the nation. The Berman Group serves as association managers for The Real Estate Lender’s Association, coordinating their marketing efforts, special events and administration across all chapters.

Sarah Berman to Serve on Advisory Board for Real Estate Weekly’s Women’s Forum

Real Estate Weekly will host an in-depth discussion with real estate’s top women in finance, construction, investment, government and management at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center on February 15, 2012. The conference is being sponsored by Real Estate Weekly and conference partners include REBNY, WX and Professional Women in Construction and Sarah Berman will serve on the event’s advisory board. IFMA NYC Chapter Celebrates the Holidays with Annual Toy Drive

The IFMA New York City Chapter hosted their Annual Holiday Party and Toy Drive on December 8, 2011.  IFMA members donated new toys to children whose families receive assistance from the Fraternite Notre Dame Soup Kitchen in East Harlem.  The Berman Group serves as chapter manager for IFMA NYC, coordinating their marketing efforts, special events and administration.

BASF Celebrates the International Year of Chemistry at the MET in New York City

To celebrate the International Year of Chemistry, BASF Chemical Corporation hosted a celebration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on November 9, 2011.  AG Lafley, former CEO of Procter and Gamble, served as the keynote speaker for the evening, which highlighted the advances that chemistry contributes to innovation and sustainability. 

NAIOP NYC Hosts Breakfast Event Featuring New Boston Properties Development

Boston Properties was featured at a recent NAIOP NYC’s Breakfast Series Meeting at a program entitled, Breaking Ground: The Developer’s Perspective.  Senior Vice Presidents of Boston Properties, Andrew Levin and Rob Silpe, discussed the challenges, obstacles and successes associated with the groundbreaking project at 250 West 55th Street. Following the presentation, Levin and Silpe fielded questions regarding the project’s unique details and its impact on the future office market in New York City.  The Berman Group serves as chapter administrator for the NAIOP NYC Chapter.

The Real Deal Hosts 7th Annual Forum Debates Featuring Billy Macklowe

The Real Deal hosted its 7th Annual Real Deal Forum this year at the Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, November 16. A sold-out auditorium of 3,000 attendees enjoyed debates between John C and Billy Macklowe as well as Lockhart Steele and Frederick Peters moderated by CNBC’s Bill Griffeth. This is the sixth year that The Berman Group has managed the Real Deal Forum.
